This is classic peanut butter the way it was meant to be. It takes just a few minutes and it’s rich, creamy, deeply nutty, and made with just three real ingredients. No oils, no stabilizers, no weird sweetness. Just peanuts, a touch of salt, and a hint of honey to round everything out.
Once you make peanut butter this way, store-bought will never taste the same.

Homemade Peanut Butter
Prep time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1.5 cups
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups roasted, unsalted peanuts
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more to taste
- 2 tablespoons honey, to taste
DIRECTIONS
- Add peanuts to a food processor or high powered blender
- Process for 1–2 minutes until the peanuts break down into a thick, crumbly paste.
- Keep blending
- Continue processing, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. The mixture will go from dry to clumpy to thick to smooth. This can take 5 to 8 minutes total, depending on your processor.
- Add salt and honey
- Add the salt and 1 tablespoon honey. Blend again until fully smooth and glossy. Taste and add more honey or salt if desired.
- Adjust texture
- If you prefer a looser peanut butter, keep blending for another minute or two – the oils will continue to release naturally.
- Store
- Transfer to a jar and let cool completely before sealing.
NOTES
- Texture options:
- Creamy: Blend until fully smooth
- Crunchy: Stir in ¼–½ cup chopped peanuts at the end
- Storage:
- Store at room temperature in an airtight container like a mason jar for up to 1 week
- Refrigerate for up to 1 month
- Natural separation is normal, just stir before using.
- Optional: roast the peanuts for 5 minutes at 400 degrees before adding tot he blender for a deeper, richer flavor.
