Red, white, and blue doesn’t have to mean Red 40, White, and Blue 1. These patriotic popsicles are loaded with strawberries, bananas, grape juice, and coconut milk and go perfectly with fireworks and sparklers.

Red, White, and Blue Popsicles for Fourth of July
Prep time: 2 hours (15 minutes of actual work!)
Freeze time: 4-6 hours
Servings: 12 small | 6 large
INGREDIENTS
- Red layer
- 1 cup strawberries
- 2 tablespoons white grape juice
- White layer
- ½ ripe banana
- 2 tablespoons coconut milk
- 1 ¼ cup white grape juice
- Blue layer
- ¼ teaspoon blue spirulina powder
DIRECTIONS
- Blend strawberries and juice until smooth. Pour about 2 tablespoons into each popsicle mold. Freeze for 1 hour.
- Blend white grape juice, coconut milk, and banana until smooth. Pour 2 tablespoons of the white mixture over the frozen red layer. Return to freezer for another hour.
- Store the remaining white mixture in the fridge while that sets.
- After the hour is up, blend the remaining white mixture with spirulina until evenly blue. Pour 2 tablespoons over each mold. Insert popsicle sticks.
- Freeze for 4–6 hours or overnight until fully solid.
- To release, run hot water over the mold and gently pull the popsicles out.
NOTES
- The amount per layer that you add to each popsicle mold is totally up to you, and dependent on the specific popsicle mold you have. Click here for the one I used. If you use this mold this recipe will make 6 popsicles.
- You can use more or less spirulina depending on what shade of blue you want. You can also start with a little and add more as you go to create a gradient effect for each popsicle (some will be light blue, others will be dark blue.)
- I like to use classic popsicle sticks instead of the ones that come with the popsicle mold. Totally an aesthetic preference!

This was fun and easy to make! Love how the spirulina gets added to the white mixture after using the white part, cuts down on the prep work. Thanks! Happy 4th 🇺🇸
