The Only Kids Pizza Recipe You’ll Ever Need

The flavor of this super simple 10 minute, 5 ingredient pizza dough gives elementary school ‘Pizza Friday’ vibes and will be a huge hit with your kids. Just don’t leave it out on the counter like I did, or it will also be a huge hit with your dog (he ate the entire pizza that you see below.)

Homemade Cheese Pizza for Kids
Prep time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 10-12 minutes
Servings: 24 mini muffins

INGREDIENTS

Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Pizza

  • ½ cup pizza sauce (or simple marinara sauce)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (thick cut is preferable)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add wet ingredients: Pour in warm water and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead: Lightly flour a surface and knead the dough for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Shape: Roll or press out into a pizza shape on a floured surface or parchment paper.
  5. Top and bake: Add sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake at 450°F for 10–12 minutes on a preheated baking sheet or pizza stone. Or even better, pop into your preheated pizza oven for a really perfect bubbly crust.
  6. Remove the pizza, and let it sit for a couple of minutes so the cheese can settle before you slice and serve.

NOTES

  • The reason I call this a kids pizza is because this dough is definitely more for a kids palette in that it’s super simple, almost like what you would expect from a school cafeteria. What you have come to expect from a pizza uses yeast in the dough and that’s a crucial element for us grown ups!
  • Pizza stores very well wrapped in tin foil in the freezer, and can be popped in the oven to reheat, or the air fryer to get the crust crispy again.
